The Holden LS1 engine is a 5.7-liter pushrod V8 petrol engine, also known as the "Generation III" engine, developed by General Motors and used in Holden and HSV vehicles from 1999 to 2006. It's an all-aluminium engine known for its power and is popular among car enthusiasts for its performance and tunability. It replaced the older Holden 5.0L V8 in the VT Series II Commodores and other models.

Holden Models:
The LS1 was used in a variety of Holden models, including the Commodore (VT II, VX, VY, VZ), Calais, Statesman, and Caprice.
Power Output:
The power output of the LS1 varied slightly across different models and years, starting around 220kW (295hp) in the VT II and increasing to 235kW (315hp) in the VZ before being replaced by the 6.0L Gen IV V8.
