The GM 95710870 Air Temperature Sensor (also known as an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) or Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) sensor) is designed to measure the temperature of the air entering the engine’s intake manifold. This information is sent to the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU), allowing precise adjustment of fuel delivery and ignition timing for optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions control.
Commonly used in Holden Commodore VN, VP, VR, VS and related GM models (V6 and V8), this sensor features a durable thermistor element that changes resistance according to air temperature. It is threaded for easy installation into the intake manifold or air intake tract.
